THE BIRMINGHAM HISTORIAN
"The Birmingham Historian" is BDLHA's regular journal. Below are a few extracts from past issues.
Note on pdf formatSome of the articles above are in pdf format. Most articles added to this page in future will also be in pdf format. Adobe Acrobat format, or pdf, is the closest thing to a standard document format that exists on the Web. It allows us to quickly upload facsimiles of articles, without first converting them to HTML, which is a very lengthy process. There are two small disadvantages. Firstly, they are larger than HTML files, and take longer to download. Secondly, to view them, you will need the pdf viewer installed in your browser. Many browsers already have the pdf viewer installed. If you are not sure whether you have it, just click on one of the pdf links above. When the download is finished, you will either see the article displayed in the pdf viewer, or your browser will complain because it doesn't recognise the format. If you don't have the viewer, good news - it's free! Click Here to go to Adobe's site, where you can download and install the latest version of the viewer. |
