The Black Country Society
The Society grew out of the Dudley Canal Tunnel Preservation Society which successfully campaigned to save Dudley Canal Tunnel. The Society has gone from strength to strength, establishing an enviable reputation in publishing books and magazines concerned with the Black Country, together with an active and varied programme of events throughout the year.

The Bromsgrove Society
the Society endeavours to address all aspects of planning, both built and environmental, in the District. The Local History Group holds a programme of meetings on local topics and has produced books and other publications.

The Dugdale Society
The Dugdale Society, named after Warwickshire's distinguished antiquary, Sir William Dugdale, was founded in association with the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in 1920 with the objects of publishing originaldocuments relating to the history of the County of Warwick, fostering interest in historical records and their preservation and generally encouraging the study of local history.

Friends of Edgbaston Reservoir
This pressure group was successful in preventing the use of noisy power boats on the water and remained as an association to preserve this secret treasure in the heart of Birmingham.

Friends of New Hall Mill
New Hall Mill, a Grade 2 listed building, is one of only two water mills still surviving in the Birmingham area. An external overshot waterwheel provides power for the two pairs of millstones, while a diesel engine over 50 years old powers various other milling machinery.

Handsworth Historical Society

The Railway & Canal Historical Society (West Midlands Group)
The Society's main objects are to promote historical research and to raise the standard of published history. Smethwick Heritage Centre Trust
The Trust’s aim is to serve as a repository for all things historical in relation to the Smethwick area. The website is a professional looking affair, helped along in design by a Heritage Lottery Fund contribution.

A nice basic society site, with a general history of the area, information about publications (all of which are inexpensive and available from the society), programmes of meetings and membership details.

Solihull Archaeological Group
A basic website with the details of the activities of the Group, contact details, activities programmes and archaeological digs past and present.

Staffordshire Archaeological and Historical Society
Information on activities, publications and lectures. The Society covers all aspects fo Staffordshire history form the canal network to the Roman site of Letocetum.

Staffordshire Industrial Archaeology Society
An interesting site created for an active group of enthusiasts in all things relating to Industrial Archaeology in Staffordshire.

The Wolseley Register
A site for owners and enthusiasts of Wolseley motor cars, which were made in Great Britain from 1895 until 1975. They were among the very first British cars put into large-scale production and lead car production figures during the Edwardian period.

Worcester and Birmingham Canal Society
The Worcester & Birmingham Canal Society was formed in 1969 to promote the restoration, conservation and improvement of the Worcester & Birmingham Canal and adjacent waterways for the use and benefit of the public. The society also provides a social forum for those interested in the canal and waterways generally.
